Publicity Queen Merry as Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal Campaign Expands to Include Victoria
The team at Publicity Queen are excited to announce that national retailer Kmart have entrusted the agency with a larger slice of the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal campaign, that will in 2010 will see PQ creating media coverage encompassing all of Queensland and Victoria.
Publicity Queen, Sally Romano, said she was pleased that Kmart decided to expand the role for Publicity Queen to include long-lead newspaper coverage, local reporting and the management of a national newsletter for the campaign, known as 'The Wish'.
Ms Romano said the 2009 campaign generated excellent results, and Kmart were pleased with the coverage that PQ had secured on their behalf, and this was reflected in their decision to increase PQ's role in 2010.
Having publicised the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal in Queensland, she said that the team already had a strong basis of knowledge and contacts to work from, and would be working hard as the year progressed to create real momentum and get the best possible coverage.
The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal encourages customers from around Australia donate a gift tag that will be used to purchase a gift for a boy or girl or teenager, and the tag will then adorn the giant Wishing Trees that feature in every store around the country as Christmas approaches.
"As we are now in the second half of the year, as people approach Christmas and begin their preparations, we trust that setting aside some money to donate a gift tag to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal 'Wishing Trees' in each Kmart store around Australia, will become part of every Australian family's Christmas tradition."
Ms Romano said the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal had exceeded it's target of 50 000 gifts in 2009, and was confident that this year would net an even bigger haul of gifts for needy Australian children and their families, with the support and collaboration of charitable partner, The Salvation Army.
